For now I've posted a little something in my TPT store AND I'm offering you a little freebie to boot! Click on the picture to head to the goods.
Here's a little freebie. It's a multiple representations chart that I like to use with my 2nd graders. They not only have to show the number and write the number in expanded notation, but they also have to decide where the number belongs on the number line and justify why they put it there. Click the pict to download a FREE copy.
Hope this is something you can use!

Wonderful! I do a daily number activity with my Multi-age students, but do not have them place the number on a number line! Thanks for sharing!
I don't know if anyone else is having trouble, but I keep getting an error message when I go to download the activitiy.

I love the number line activity! The only other thing I require is the word form of each number. Let me ask you something. (I'm not complaining, just reclarifying...) On the number line, do the kids just have to put the number on the number line anywhere between the two lines (it falls between)or do you ask them to be more exact? For example, if the number is 101, would you require them to place their marker or number right after the 100 or just anywhere before the 250? If it has to be "near" exact, then you don't have the numberline marked off exactly correct because you don't have the same numbers between each point. (100-250)and (750-999) are not not the same as the others. Do you see what I mean? Thanks again!!!! I'm new to 2nd grade after 28 years and need to know what to expect out of my kids.

Cindy--I'm sorry it's not working, but thanks for your email. I will send it to you (a revised version--see next)
Susanlulu--You are totally right!! I didn't even see it that way! I am going to change 100 to 0...I will email you the corrected one. :) In my 2nd grade class we begin number lines by drawing a line on the board or using a long piece of string, to create our own number line. I start with 0 to 100. I give each student a number and they place it one at a time on the number line where they feel it should go. They have to justify why they put the number where they did. We have a lot of repositioning of numbers, but the math talk between them is great.
Hope that makes sense.... :)
