I'm Comin' Out!!!

Out to the portables that is!!!

OK...y'all were such a TREMENDOUS help with my questions about the Mac.  (Which by the way I got the 13" Macbook Pro and I LOVE IT!!!!)  I need more advice...I'm moving out of the building and into a portable classroom--you know the "shacks", the "cabins", and my favorite since half of my grade level is inside and the other out--the "Porto-Pod".  In the building I had tons of storage and counter space.  In the portable I don't really have any.  If you've been "ousted" outside, what cool tips do you have to share with me about room set-up, organization, classroom management, etc.  HELP!  I'm coming to y'all--the EXPERTS!

Thanks a Billion in advance!!

Denise

I'm in a portable and love it! I had to beg my principal to get me metal storage cabinet since there is absolutely no storage and I only get a few shelves in the team's closet inside. That helped tremendously! I try to keep as many supplies as I can handy out there, but you have to be careful of clutter. I've found that my room arrangement works best when everything is against walls and keep desks in two teams of 10-12 instead of rows or small groups. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions! =)

I went to Costco and Target to get storage crates that I used as cubbies for backpacks and lunchboxes. I also pushed a table against a wall and velcroed a homemade "curtain" around it so I could store some file boxes under it. The nice thing about portables is that you can create bulletin boards wherever you want them.
